Callaway Junior Tour Continues Western Tour at Riverside Golf Club in Mason

The Callaway Junior Tour, sponsored by Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal and hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA), continued its tour of western West Virginia today at Riverside Golf Club in Mason.  Today’s event features a total field of 68 golfers aged 5 to 18.

Carson Sergent of Huntington, playing in the boys 17-18 division, won the Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for boys, finishing at one over par (+1) 71. Lindsey Martin of Lawrenceburg, Ky., playing in the girls 15-18 division, won the Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for girls at seven over par (+9) 79.

Division winners were:

  • Boys 12 & under: Anderson Lilly of Oak Hill (+7) 77;
  • Boys 13-14: Jude Walker of Elizabeth, (+4) 74;
  • Boys 15-16: Wyatt Maynard of Barboursville, (+3) 73;
  • Boys 17-18: Carson Sergent of Huntington, (+1) 71;
  • Girls 10-14: Valentina Aguilar of Elkins, (+25) 95; and
  • Girls 15-18: Lindsey Martin of Lawrenceburg, Ky., (+9) 79.

 

“It’s great to see the kids and their parents on the course today since it makes an exciting day.  The course is doing well with the recent rains and it’s in good shape,” said Riverside’s Head Golf Professional Ty Roush. “More young people are playing now than ever before, and we’ve owned this course for 52 years!”

“We’ve enjoyed this tour of western West Virginia, and we thank Ty Roush and the entire Riverside team for such a great day,” said WVGA’s Director of Junior Golf and Core Services Lucas Ware. “We congratulate Carson and Lindsey on their first wins of the season.”

The Callaway Junior Tour is in action again on June 16-17 at The Resort at Glade Springs and Pipestem Resort State Park for another two-day 36-hole event.
