Tom Williams of Bridgeport took his first Little General Stores Low Round of the Day at the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA) Senior Series event Tuesday at Tygart Lake Golf Course in Grafton, shooting a two over par (+2) 74.
Overall, 80 players enjoyed the great weather at today’s Senior Series event. The Senior Series, which is presented by Little General Stores and conducted by the WVGA, is for players ages 50 and older. Categories are: Senior, 50-59; Silver, 60-69; Gold, 70-79; and Diamond, 80+.
“A good number of our members play in Senior Series events around the state, so it’s nice for them to have a chance to play at home, especially when course conditions are as good as they’ve ever been,” said Tygart Lake’s Manager Adam Ware.
“Thank you to Adam Ware and the entire Tygart Lake for hosting us today with such great course conditions and hospitality,” said WVGA Director of Women’s Golf and One Day Series Sarah Cole.
In addition to Williams winning the Senior Gross category, other winners today were:
- Senior Net: Maximillian Morris, Princeton, (-4) 68;
- Silver Gross: Tony Bryant, Bridgeport, (+4) 76;
- Silver Net: Todd Mullenax, Fairmont, (-3) 69;
- Gold Gross: Barry Knotts, Morgantown, (+5) 77; and
- Gold Net: David Snyder of South Charleston, (+1) 73.
