The Callaway Junior Tour, sponsored by Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal and hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA), concluded its two-day, 36-hole combined event Tuesday at Esquire Golf Course in Barboursville. The first day took place yesterday at Guyan Golf and Country Club in Huntington. Today’s event features a total field of 68 golfers aged 5 to 18.
Wyatt Maynard of Barboursville, playing in the 15-16 division, was the boys’ winner of the two-day event, while Isabelle Studli of Fairfield, Pa., playing in the 15-18 division, was the girls’ winner of the two-day event.
Anderson Lilly of Oak Hill, playing in the boys 12 and under division, won the Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for boys, finishing at three under par (-3) 69. Audrey Kerr of Bridgeport, playing in the girls 15-18 division, won the Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for girls at seven over par (+7) 79.
Division winners were:
- Boys 12 & under: Anderson Lilly of Oak Hill (-3) 69;
- Boys 13-14: Jude Walker of Elizabeth, (+4) 76 on a green-grass playoff;
- Boys 15-16: Wyatt Maynard of Barboursville, (-2) 70;
- Boys 17-18: Carson Sergent of Huntington, (+3) 75;
- Girls 10-14: Valentina Aguilar of Elkins, (+13) 85; and
- Girls 15-18: Audrey Kerr of Bridgeport, (+7) 79.
“The course was in fantastic shape for these junior golfers. We love hosting these young kids, and this is one of our favorite events,” said Esquite’s General Manager Chase McWhorter.
“The second day of our 36-hole combined event went well for players, and we congratulate Anderson and Audrey for their finishes today,” said WVGA’s Director of Junior Golf and Core Services Lucas Ware. “We congratulate Wyatt and Isabelle for winning the two-day combined event!”
