WVGA Women’s Series Continues Season at Pipestem Resort State Park

The West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA) saw a field of 26 golfers continue the 2025 Women’s Series season Wednesday at Pipestem Resort and State Park.

Top honors in First Flight Gross, with a two-stroke lead, went to the team of Karen Rainey and Kristen Henderson of Daniels, finishing the round at one over par (+1) 73.

First Flight Net, with a score of one under par (-!0 71, went to the team of Caroline and Lauren Ramsey, both of Bridgeport.

Second Flight Gross honors went to Deborah Scott and Lori Vargo, both of Daniels, with a score of 10 over par (+10) 82.

Top honors in Second Flight Net went to the team of Kim Propst and Anna Walsh, both of Clarksburg, scoring a two over par (+2) 74.

In individual stroke play, the top five finishers were:

  • Kristen Henderson of Daniels, (+6) 78;
  • Kathy Thompson of Summersville, (+6) 78;
  • Caroline Ramsey of Bridgeport, (+9) 81;
  • Lauren Ramsey of Bridgeport, (+10) 82; and
  • Karen Rainey of Daniels, (+10) 82.

“We were looking forward to hosting our first WVGA Women’s Series event,” said Pipestem’s Head Golf Professional Steve Roberts.  “The course was in great shape, and we just had fingers crossed the weather cooperated.”

“We were thrilled to have a field of women on the course today for the second event of our 2025 Women’s Series,” said WVGA Director of Women’s Golf and One Day Series Sarah Cole.
