WVGA Women’s Series Concludes Two-Day Event at Raven Golf Club

The West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA) Women’s Series concluded a two-day event Saturday at Raven Golf Club at Snowshoe, featuring 32 women on eight teams from across the state.

In the First Flight Gross division, the team of Lauren Ramsey and Kaitlin Satzer of Bridgeport, Kathryn Alvaro of Morgantown and Karley Losh of Clarksburg finished the day at 11 under par (-11) 61. In the First Flight Net division, the multi-state team of Teresa Harper of Coolville, Ohio, Kimberly Mann of Hernando, Fl., Kim Sovine of Morgantown and Alyssa Scragg of Charleston took top honors, finishing at 15 under par (-15) 57.

Overall winners for the two-day event in the First Flight Gross division were Janice Allen and Judy Street of Daniels, Caroline Ramsey of Bridgeport and Lisa Younis of Shepherdstown, while the team of Lauren Ramsey and Kaitlin Statzer of Bridgeport, Kathryn Alvaro of Morgantown and Karley Losh of Clarksburg took top honors in First Flight Net division.

In the Second Flight Gross division, Lori Bocock, Cindy Matthews, Beverly Eye of Fort Seybert and Amy Humphries of Franklin finished at the top at four under par (-4) 68, while the Wheeling-based team of Vickie Monto, Carol Varner, Mimi Gafric and Therese Moore finished at 18 under par (-18) 54.

Overall winners for the two-day event in the Second Flight Gross division were Lori Bocock, Cindy Matthews, Beverly Eye of Fort Seybert and Amy Humphries of Franklin, while the team of Vickie Monto, Carol Varner, Mimi Gafric and Therese Moore took Second Flight Net division top honors.

“It was a great two days for the Women’s Series here at Raven Golf Club,” said WVGA Director of Women’s Golf and One Day Events Sarah Cole.  “Chester Gruzek and his staff have been wonderful hosts on a great course.”
