Jeff Harper of Coolville, Ohio shot the Little General Stores Low Round of the Day at Monday’s West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA) opening Senior Series event on the Cobb Course at The Resort at Glade Springs with an even 72.
“I am very pleased with my round, considering how difficult the course played,” Harper said.
“The weather turned out great for our first Senior Series event of 2023,” said WVGA Tournament Manager Lucas Ware. “Thank you to The Resort at Glade Springs and Little General Stores for helping make it a success.”
“The Senior Series was one of our bigger fields to start the season, with 105 players today. There’s better weather and it gets our juices flowing,” said Kyle Long, head golf professional at The Resort at Glade Springs. “Our courses wintered pretty well, the grass is growing and our maintenance crews are working on the greens and raking the bunkers.”
The West Virginia Senior Series, which is presented by Little General Stores and conducted by the WVGA, is for players age 50 and up. Overall, 105 players enjoyed the WVGA the day’s Senior Series event. Categories are: Senior, 50-59; Silver, 60-69; Gold, 70-79; and Diamond, 80+.
