Walker, Kerr Take Repeat Low Rounds of Day This Season

The Callaway Junior Tour, sponsored by Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal and hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA), played at Stonewall Resort in Roanoke Thursday under great conditions.

Today’s event featured a total field of 88 golfers aged 9 to 18.  Jude Walker of Elizabeth, playing in the boys 13-14 division, won a playoff against Bryson Moorehead of Ridgeley and his second Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for boys this season, finishing at three over par (+3) 75. Audrey Kerr of Bridgeport, playing in the girls 15-18 division, won her third Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for girls this season at seven over par (+7) 79.

Division winners were:

  • Boys 12 and under: Andrew Grigsby of Morgantown, (+9) 81;
  • Boys 13-14: Jude Walker of Elizabeth, (+3) 75;
  • Boys 15-16: Jack Louden of Vienna, (+9) 81;
  • Boys 17-18: Bryson Moorehead of Ridgeley, (+3) 75;
  • Girls 10-14: Valentina Aguilar of Elkins, (+25) 97; and
  • Girls 15-18: Audrey Kerr of Bridgeport, (+7) 79.

 

“We love hosting these kids, as we do every year.  The course is in great shape, making it a fun venue and good challenge for these golfers,” said Stonewall’s Head Golf Professional Mike Rogers.

WVGA’s Director of Junior Golf and Core Services Lucas Ware said, “These young golfers did a great job on this challenging course, and we thank the Mike Rogers and his staff for their hospitality and for having the course in such good condition.”
