The Club at Cress Creek’s Team 1 took Monday’s win and bragging rights over 15 other teams during the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA) 2025 Women’s Intra State Matches at Guyan Golf and Country Club in Huntington. They successfully defended their 2023 and 2024 titles.
Members of The Club at Cress Creek Team 1, finishing at four under par (-4) 138even par 142 and winning the overall title and Championship Division, were Kimberly Eaton of Charles Town, Karen Kinnett, Lisa Younis and Sylke Knuppel, all of Shepherdstown.
“We had a really good turnout, and the course is in great shape,” said Guyan’s Assistant Golf Professional Stuart Wiley. “We were glad to have Cress Creek teams make the trip from Shepherdstown, and there have been some other great activities surrounding this event.”
Other division-winning teams were:
- Diamond: Sleepy Hollow Golf Course, finishing at six over par (+6) 148, with team members Emma Nicol and Diana Williamson-Barthelmess of Charleston, Kim Smith of Winfield and Jennifer Peyton of Hurricane
- Platinum: The Pines Country, finishing at 19 over par (+19) 161, with team members Lori Stahara, Wyn Johnson, Isabella Ferrell and Linda Davis, all of Morgantown;
- Gold: Stonehaven 2, finishing at 14 over par (+14) 156, with team members Janice Allen, Mary Fulbright and Lori Vargo, all of Daniels, and Kimberly Mann of Hernando, Fl.;
- Silver: Riviera, finishing at 29 over par (+29) 171, with team members Kay Ratfliff and Marsha Slater of Barboursville, Sharon Chandler of Chesapeake, Ohio and Carolyn Outman of Hurricane; and
- Silver Net: Guyan, finishing at 15 under par (-15) 56, with team members Sally Bogers, Marsha Moses, Susan Fleckenstein and Kristen Black, all of Huntington.
