Taylor and Rainey take top spots in WV Amateur Series at Fincastle

The West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA) West Virginia Amateur Series, presented by PSIMED, saw Jared Taylor of Bluefield top the Championship flight Monday at Fincastle Country Club in Bluefield, Va. with a three over par 73.

Karen Rainey of Daniels topped the Women’s Gross Division with a 15 over par 85.  Candy Rollyson of Barboursville took the Women’s Net Division with a four over par 74.

Jarry McKisic of Buckhannon took the Men’s Gross Division with a nine over par 79, while Dakota Carpenter of Camden on Gauley took the Men’s Net Division with a one under par 69.

Fincastle General Manager John O’Neal said, “We look forward to having the West Virginia Golf Association here, since it’s always a good time.  The course was in good shape today with flat greens running fast.  The last couple of dry days really helped.”

“We want to thank John O’Neal and the staff at Fincastle Country Club for the outstanding course conditions and great day of golf,” said WVGA’s Director of Women’s Golf and One Day Series Sarah Cole. “We were thrilled to have 20 players on the course today.  We’ve only got one event left in the Amateur Series presented by PSIMED.”

The West Virginia Amateur Series, presented by PSIMED, is open to anyone, male or female, of any skill level. Awards are given in several flights based on net and gross scores.
