Steve Fox – 2015

The son of Charlotte and David Fox Jr., Steve Fox is a lifelong resident of Huntington, West Virginia where he attended Marshall University as a part of the golf team and has been an active member of Guyan Golf & Country Club for over 30 years.

Steve’s golfing accomplishments include 29 West Virginia State Championship Titles. Fox has won a combined 17 Four-Ball Championships as a regular and senior golfer. He was the 2014 Senior Open Champion, the 2006 Mid-Amateur Champion, and eight time Senior Match Play and Stroke Play Champion. Fox’s career includes two West Virginia Amateur Titles, winning at The Greenbrier in 1988 and 1994. Fox has not only made his mark in West Virginia, but nationally, competing in 12 USGA National Championships, 10 North-South Amateurs and the 1988 British Amateur. He is a 13-time Guyan Golf & Country Club Champion, a three-time member of the USGA State Team, two-time WVGA Player of the Year, and nine-time Senior Player of the Year. Fox has also been a part of the winning team at the Baltusrol Invitational, the Canturbury Cup, and the Laxton Terrell Cup.

Fox’s impressive resume extends off the golf course as well. In the Oil and Gas industry, Steve has been a successful businessman for over 34 years. As a golf administrator, Steve has contributed to the growth and well-being of amateur golf in West Virginia as a 14 year member of the West Virginia Golf Association’s Executive Committee, where he served as President from 2013-2016.
