Ian Patrick of Huntington shot the Little General Stores Low Round of the Day at Wednesday’s Senior Series event, hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA) and sponsored by Little General Stores, at The Pines Country Club in Morgantown with a three under par 68.
“We’re sold out today,” said The Pines Head Golf Professional Russell Reid. “We have a regional reputation for always being in good shape and fun to play. Today is no exception, and we’re always excited to host the West Virginia Golf Association.”
“Thank you to The Pines and Russell Reid for hosting us today. We couldn’t have asked for better weather or course conditions,” said WVGA Director of Women’s Golf and One Day Series Sarah Cole. “It was great seeing another sold out field for the Senior Series.”
The West Virginia Senior Series, which is presented by Little General Stores and conducted by the WVGA, is for players ages 50 and up. The Diamond Division is sponsored by Donnie Smith and Emergency Physicians Resource Organization and John Bumgarner with State Farm for sponsoring our Diamond (80+) Division.
Overall, 106 players enjoyed the WVGA the day’s Senior Series event. Categories are: Senior, 50-59; Silver, 60-69; Gold, 70-79; and Diamond, 80+.
In addition to Patrick winning the Senior Gross category, other winners today were:
- Senior Net: Mike Boggs of Hedgesville, (-6) 65;
- Silver Gross: Dean Daniels of McHenry, Md., (E) 71;
- Silver Net: William Kincaid of Charleston, (-3) 68;
- Gold Gross: James Jackson of Morgantown, (+2) 73;
- Gold Net: David Snyder of South Charleston, (+1) 72;
- Diamond Gross: Terry Whitfield of Moundsville, (+14) 85; and
- Diamond Net: Terry Whitfield of Moundavills, (+9) 80.
