Palmer takes WV Amateur Series at Parkersburg Country Club

The West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA) West Virginia Amateur Series, presented by PSIMED, saw Ben Palmer of Parkersburg take in the Championship flight Monday at Parkersburg Country Club with a three over par 76.  He was followed by Chuck Henderson of Vienna on a scorecard tie-breaker.

“Working with the WVGA gives us a chance to see faces from around the state.  This is the first WVGA event with PSIMED and I think the new partnership is fantastic,” said Parkersburg Country Club Head Golf Professional Adam Chestnut.  “Superintendent Pat Maher has made some incredible changes here in the past seven years and we love the chance to showcase our course.”

Bill Capelety of Farmington took the Men’s Gross Division with a six over par 79, while Maximillian Morris of Princetoon took the Men’s Net Division with an even 73.  Cathleen Wong of Parkersburg took the Women’s Gross Division with a nine over par 83, while Janice Allen of Daniels took the Women’s Net Division with a two over par 76.

“Our players battled the elements today,” said WVGA Tournament Manager Lucas Ware. “Thanks to Parkersburg Country Club for always being great hosts.”

The West Virginia Amateur Series, presented by PSIMED, is open to anyone, male or female, of any skill level. Awards are given in several flights based on net and gross scores.
