Monday saw great weather for the 42 golfers playing the Cobb Course at The Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels as part of the West Virginia Amateur Series event, presented by PSIMED, and hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA).
Jack Michael of Huntington took his first Championship Flight title of the season, scoring four under par (-4) 68, leading the next three players by three strokes.
Cathleen Wong of Parkersburg earned her second win in the Women’s Gross flight, scoring a two over par (+2) 74, while Caroline Ramsey of Bridgeport took Women’s Net flight honors with a three over par (+3) 75.
Aaron Kemlock of Fayetteville won his first Men’s Gross flight this season with a two over par (+2) 74, and Todd Keller of Ripley won the Men’s Net flight with a three under par (-3) 69.
WVGA’s Director of Junior Golf and Core Services Lucas Ware said, “We had a great day here on the Cobb Course at The Resort at Glade Springs with 42 golfers. I want to thank the entire Glade Springs staff for hosting today’s WVGA Amateur Series event.”
The West Virginia Amateur Series, presented by PSIMED, is open to anyone, male or female, of any skill level. Awards are given in several flights based on net and gross scores.

The WV Amateur Series is back in action on Wednesday, June 18, on the Palmer Course at Stonewall Resort.
