Duty wins playoff to take third WVGA Senior Series Low Round at Raven Golf Club

Following a scorecard playoff, John Duty of Hurricane shot his third Little General Stores Low Round of the Day at Tuesday’s Senior Series event, hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA) and sponsored by Little General Stores, at Raven Golf Club in Snowshoe with a four over par 76.

“Thank you to the Raven for making a cloudy day brighter for our senior golfers,” said WVGA Director of Women’s Golf and One Day Series Sarah Cole.

“It’s great to have the senior golfers out here playing golf on a challenging course that’s ready for them,” said Raven’s Chester Guzek.  “The course is in great shape and the weather cooperated beautifully.”

The West Virginia Senior Series, which is presented by Little General Stores and conducted by the WVGA, is for players ages 50 and up.

Overall, 73 players enjoyed the WVGA the day’s Senior Series event.  Categories are: Senior, 50-59; Silver, 60-69; Gold, 70-79; and Diamond, 80+.

In addition to Duty winning the Silver Gross category, other winners today were:

  • Senior Gross: John Ridenour of Long Bottom, Ohio, (+4) 76;
  • Senior Net: Jerry McKisic of Buckhannon, (+4) 76;
  • Silver Gross: John Duty of Hurricane, (+4) 76;
  • Silver Net: George Abel of Grafton, (-1) 71;
  • Gold Gross: David Eller of Barboursville, (+5) 77; and
  • Gold Net: David Snyder of South Charleston, (-1) 71.
