Daniels takes first WVGA Senior Series Low Round of 2024 at The Resort at Glade Springs

Chris Daniels of Beckley shot the Little General Stores Low Round of the Day at Thursday’s Senior Series event, hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA) and sponsored by Little General Stores, on the Cobb course at The Resort at Glade Springs with an even par 72.

“The course is perking up from winter. Spring golf is often a bit damp, but it will be a great challenge for everyone,” said Glade’s Assistant Golf Professional Jared Porter.  “We’re always happy to host West Virgina Golf Association golfers.”

“Thank you to Kyle Long and Glade Springs for hosting the first Senior Series event of the year! We are excited for another great season throughout the state,” said WVGA Director of Women’s Golf and One Day Series Sarah Cole.

The West Virginia Senior Series, which is presented by Little General Stores and conducted by the WVGA, is for players ages 50 and up.  Overall, 28 players enjoyed the WVGA Senior Series event.  Categories are: Senior, 50-59; Silver, 60-69; Gold, 70-79; and Diamond, 80+.

In addition to Daniels winning the Senior Gross category, other winners today were:

  • Senior Net: Shad Butcher of Jane Lew;
  • Silver Gross and Net: Jay Kaufman of Mineral Wells;
  • Silver Net: Mark Maguire of Wheeling;
  • Gold Gross: Neil Christiansen of Parkersburg;
  • Gold Net: Michael Wylie of White Sulphur Springs; and
  • Diamond Gross and Net: Terry Whitfield of Moundsville.
