Chuck Workman of Marlinton took Tuesday’s Little General Stores Low Round of the Day at the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA) Senior Series event at Raven Golf Club at Snowshoe, shooting a two over par (+2) 74. This was his second Low Round of the season.
Overall, 93 players enjoyed slightly cooler weather on the mountain course. The Senior Series, which is presented by Little General Stores and conducted by the WVGA, is for players ages 50 and older. Categories are: Senior, 50-59; Silver, 60-69; Gold, 70-79; and Diamond, 80+.
“We appreciate the WVGA Senior Series playing our course today, and the course is in good shape,” said Raven’s Head Golf Professional Chester Gruzek.
“It’s great to get the Senior Series players up here in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia so they can enjoy the Raven course the hospitality of Chester and his staff,” said WVGA Director of Women’s Golf and One Day Series Sarah Cole.
In addition to Workman winning the Senior Gross category, other winners today were:
- Senior Net: David Sawyers of Fairmont, (-7) 65;
- Silver Gross: Terry Lilly of Scott Depot, (+6) 78;
- Silver Net: Bill Kincaid of Charleston, (-5) 67;
- Gold Gross: Barry Knotts of Morgantown, (+6) 78;
- Gold Net: David Snyder of South Charleston, (+2) 74;
- Diamond Gross and Net: Thomas Hamilton of Charleston, (+17) 89.
