Christiansen takes final WVGA Senior Series Low Round at Williams Country Club

Neil Christiansen of Parkersburg shot the final Little General Stores Low Round of the Day for 2023 at Tuesday’s Senior Series event, hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA) and sponsored by Little General Stores, at Williams Country Club in Weirton with a seven over par 74.

The West Virginia Senior Series, which is presented by Little General Stores and conducted by the WVGA, is for players ages 50 and up.  Overall, 29 players enjoyed the WVGA’s final Senior Series event.  Categories are: Senior, 50-59; Silver, 60-69; Gold, 70-79; and Diamond, 80+.

In addition to Christiansen winning the Gold Gross category, other winners today were:

  • Senior Gross: Bob Clark of Wheeling;
  • Senior Net: John Wheeler of South Charleston;
  • Silver Gross: Bill Capelety of Fairmont;
  • Silver Net: Martin Morgan of Fairmont; and
  • Gold Net: Ron Witt of Masontown.

“The golf course is in phenomenal shape, and we are so excited to take part in hosting this year’s final event,” said Williams’ Head Golf Professional Brian Grogan.  “We always enjoy having the WVGA golfer out and look forward to more events in the future.”
