“We had some great talent on the course today and are thrilled to see two West Virginians finish so well,” said Berry Hills’ Head Golf Professional Barry Evans. “The course was in great shape for these outstanding golfers. Our staff has worked hard to deal with the effects of the weather this summer.”
“We are honored to host one of the 60-plus US Mid-Amateur qualifiers across the country,” said WVGA Executive Director Chris Slack. “I’m always amazed to see where our participants call home. In our field of 61 players, in addition to our nine West Virginia golfers, we have players from 12 other states, Canada and Mexico. We’re glad for the chance to let them experience at least a part of West Virginia.”
Other states represented were Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
