Callaway Junior Tour saw nearly 70 players at Preston Country Club

The Callaway Junior Tour, sponsored by Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal and hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA), visited Preston Country Club in Kingwood Tuesday with a field of 69 golfers ages 10 to 18.

Cam Fallon of Parkersburg, playing in the boys 15-16, won the Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for boys. McKenna Knotts of Shinnston, playing in the girls 10-14 division, won the Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for girls.

“The course was in great condition for the junior golfers today and leading up to our Tri-State Amateur this weekend,” said Preston’s Director of Golf Tim Bucklew. “We enjoyed having them today!”

“The weather cooperated after not looking good on the forecast,” said Lucas Ware, WVGA’s Tournament Manager – Youth Golf.  “It turned out to be a great day for golf at a great golf course and country club!”

Highlights of the day included three birdies each for Cameron Fallon of Parkersburg, Lucas Riggleman of Petersburg, Kaleb Smith of Saint Albans and Gabe Urso of Bridgeport.

Division winners were:

  • Boys 12 & under: Bentley Shirkey of Barboursville;
  • Boys 13-14: Parker O’Dell of Hurricane;
  • Boys 15-16: Cameron Fallon of Parkersburg;
  • Boys 17-18: Caleb Young of Fairmont;
  • Girls 10-14: McKenna Knotts of Shinnston; and
  • Girls 15-18: Scarlett Albertson of Charleston.
