Callaway Junior Rookie League visits Glenville Golf Club

The Callaway Junior Tour Rookie League, sponsored by Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal and hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA), played Sunday at Glenville Golf Club.

The CJRT Rookie League is broken into three divisions, based on skill and experience.  Division winners were:

  • AAA (nine holes): Chastyn Viars of South Charleston;
  • AA (nine holes): Sawyer Sublett of Philippi; and
  • A (six holes): Elliott Sublett of Philippi.

Other highlights of the day included two birdies for Sublett and one each for Stellan Harris and Corban Phillips, both of Morgantown.

“We are extremely excited to have the Rookie League here.  Our golf community couldn’t wait to come watch these kids play, since we know they are the future of golf,” said Glenville’s Manager Cindy Doumont.  “We had the course in really good shape for them.”

“Glenville GC was very welcoming in their first ever Rookie League event. Thanks goes to all the staff there for helping run a great golf tournament,” said WVGA Tournament Director – Youth

The event, a partner of Callaway Golf and conducted by the West Virginia Golf Association, featured a field of 31 golfers aged 5 to 18 from across West Virginia.
