Callaway Junior Rookie League continues season in St. Mary’s

The Callaway Junior Tour Rookie League, sponsored by Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal and hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA), continued its season Saturday at St. Mary’s Golf Course.

The CJRT Rookie League is broken into three divisions, based on skill and experience.  Division winners were:

  • AAA (nine holes): Alexander Randolph of Bridgeport at (+1) 33;
  • AA (nine holes): Conner Ball of Wheeling at (+6) 38; and
  • A (six holes): Elliott Sublett of Philippi (+2) 20.

The event, a partner of Callaway Golf and conducted by the West Virginia Golf Association, featured a field of 30 golfers aged 5 to 18 from across West Virginia.

Sandra Bills, a manager at St. Mary’s, said, “The course is in good shape after last weekend’s rain.  We enjoy hosting the WVGA event and the kids are a lot of fun.  We’re also glad to have parents participating.”

“Through two weather delays, we thankfully completed the second Rookie League event of the season. We are very thankful to St. Mary’s Golf Course for allowing us to come back each year,” said WVGA Director of Junior Golf and Core Services Lucas Ware.
