Hailing from Wheeling, WV, Scott Davis dedicated his entire career to growing the game of golf in the mountain state. He graduated from Tridelphia High School and conitnued on to Marshall University where his life in golf began.  Scott Davis credits Coach Joe Feaganes for establishing his path and future in the game of golf.  Joe Feaganes recruited him to play golf for Marshall University where Davis met his mentor, Harold Payne, and played on an NCAA Championship team. Marshall University finished 17^th in the NCAA Championship in 1976 and Davis was the NCAA Long Drive champion that same year. Following his graduation from Marshall University, Davis worked as an assistant golf professional under Karen Murphy at Speidel Golf Club in Wheeling, West Virginia where he was given the responsibility of directing the Wheeling Junior Golf Association.  His love for working with the junior golfers is what sparked Davis’ career.

Davis always enjoyed instructing junior golfers with their swings and fitting their equipment, although his true passion has always been teaching the game. Davis spent many hours on the lesson tee believing that if his students improved, which he always believed they could, that they would enjoy the game more and therefore grow the game themselves. Scot Davis’ mission was to always help grow the game!

After winning the 1978 WV Amateur at The Greenbrier, Davis decided to become professional. He would spend the next thirty-five years as a PGA of America and WV PGA Golf Professional. Scott was always very proud of the fact that he could make his living and promote the game of golf entirely within his home state of West Virginia.

Scott Davis is a 35 year PGA of America and WV PGA Golf Professional. The majority of his time was spent in the Tri-State PGA Section as Head Golf Professional at Scarlett Oaks CC and Edgewood CC. In 2004 Davis received the PGA of America Bill Strasbaugh Award in the Tri-State Section. This award represents Davis’ career, his dedicated involvement in charitable and community activities, as well as his mentoring of the PGA Golf Professionals. Most importantly it represents Davis’ integrity and character reflecting positively upon the profession and the game of golf.

Davis was the 1978 West Virginia Amateur Champion, four-time West Virginia OPEN Champion, 4-Time Low Senior at the West Virginia OPEN, 10-Time West Virginia PGA Player of the Year, 4-time Senior West Virginia PGA Player of the Year, Tri-State PGA Champion, Tri-State Tour Championship Champion, Tri-State Match Play Champion and competed in 18 National Club Professional Championships and six Majors Championships.

Scott Davis is a trained instructor, a golf mentor, an accomplished player, a tournament director, event planner, club fitter, and merchandiser, but most importantly: A friend to the game.
