Wednesday saw sunny and beautiful conditions for over 50 golfers playing the course at Riverside Golf Club in Mason as part of the West Virginia Amateur Series event, presented by PSIMED, and hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA).
Joseph Kalaskey of South Charleston took his first Championship Flight title of the season, scoring two under par (-2) 68, following a scorecard playoff with Mitch Hoffman of Hurricane.
Susan Glasby of Chesapeake, Ohio, earned her second win in the Women’s Gross flight, scoring a three over par (+3) 73, while Karen Rainey of Daniels took Women’s Net flight honors with a two under par (-2) 68.
Parkersburg’s Joe Crislip won his second Men’s Gross flight this season with a five over par (+5) 75, and Bill Capelety of Farmington won the Men’s Net flight with an even par (E) 70.
WVGA’s Director of Women’s Golf and One Day Series Sarah Cole said, “We had a great day here at Riverside Golf Club with 53 golfers and I want to thank the entire Riverside staff for hosting today’s WVGA Amateur Series event.”
The West Virginia Amateur Series, presented by PSIMED, is open to anyone, male or female, of any skill level. Awards are given in several flights based on net and gross scores.
