The second of two Junior Match Play qualifiers for players under 18, conducted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA), took place Saturday at Tygart Lake Golf Course in Grafton. A field of 25 players competed for three qualifying spots for girls and six for boys, with one alternate, to move to the Junior Match Play Championship which is set for May 10 and 11 at the Parkersburg Country Club.
Girls qualifying today for the Championship are:
- Audrey Kerr of Bridgeport, (+3) 75;
- McKenzie Armstrong of Belmont, (+16) 88; and
- Kianna Garrison of Moundsville, (+23) 94.
Boys qualifying for the Championship are:
- Jack Michael of Huntington, (-4) 68
- Cooper Ward of Beaver, (-1) 71;
- Marshall Creel of Millwood, (+2) 74;
- Andrew Pennybacker of Wheeling, (+3) 75;
- Alexander Randolph of Bridgeport, (+3) 75; and
- Grant Winkler of Daniels, (+4) 76.
The first alternate, following a playoff with Winkler, is Carson Higginbotham of Clarksburg.
