2025 Callaway Junior Rookie League sees playoffs at Sistersville Country Club

The 2025 Callaway Junior Tour Rookie League (CJRT Rookie), sponsored by Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal and hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA), saw 26 players aged 5 to 18 hit the links Sunday at Sistersville Country Club.

The CJRT Rookie League is broken into three divisions, based on skill and experience, with AAA and AA playing nine holes, and A playing six holes.  Division winners were:

  • AAA: Jude Walker of Elizabeth, (+5) 40;
  • AA: Mason Karp of Weston, (+4) 39; and
  • A: Sterling Smith of Middlebourne, (+7) 30.

“We had a good turnout today, and the course was in good condition for these young golfers,” said Sistersville’s General Manager and President Tim Meeks.  “Larry Martin, who started junior golf in West Virginia, did so much for my own kids, and we want to pass on his legacy.  We’ll host the kids any day of the week.”

“Like most of the state today, the weather was cool and, in addition to golf, we played some tag with raindrops.  We even had scorecard playoffs for AAA and A Divisions,” said First Tee – West Virginia Program Director Alyssa Scragg.  “We want to thank Tim Meeks and his staff for their hospitality and course conditions.”
