2023 Callaway Junior Tour Championship closes season at The Greenbrier Sporting Club; Players of the Year named

The 2023 Callaway Junior Tour Championship, sponsored by Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal and hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA), saw an invited field of West Virginia’s 34 top young golfers Thursday at The Greenbrier Sporting Club.

In her seventh win of the season, Kerri-Anne Cook of Oceana, playing in the girls 15-18 division, won the Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Low Round of the Day for the girls with a seven over par 78.

Cameron Fallon of Parkersburg, playing in the Boys 15-16 division, won the Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Low Round of the Day for the boys today with a three over par 74.

“On behalf of the members and executive staff of The Greenbrier Sporting Club, we want to congratulate all the Juniors and their parents for an incredible season.  Having everyone out to The Sporting Club is a ‘full circle’ feeling for me.  I started out playing in the Top Flight Tour on an invitation from Larry Martin in 1999, then became the golf professional at Glade Springs in 2009 and Larry called me to host my first Junior event and now finally being able to bring the CJRT Championship to The Greenbrier Sporting Club is the full circle,” said Justin Beard, The Sporting Club’s head golf professional. “Thank you to the WVGA staff for all they do to promote and run all these events in West Virginia.  Lucas, Devin, Caden and Sarah are rockstars and run great Junior events.”

“I can’t believe the 40th Callaway Junior Tour season is already over,” said WVGA Tournament Manager – Youth Operations Lucas Ware. “There was some great golf played today at the CJRT Championship and I sure will miss seeing these young golfers and their families each week traveling the state. I want to thank Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal for all of their support this season.”
