Callaway Junior Tour Championship closes at Greenbrier Sporting Club with repeat winners

The 2024 Callaway Junior Tour Championship, sponsored by Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal and hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA), saw an invited field of West Virginia’s 31 top young golfers Thursday at The Greenbrier Sporting Club.

In her tenth win of the season, Kerri-Anne Cook of Oceana, playing in the girls 15-18 division, defended her 2023 Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Low Round of the Day for the girls with a six over par 77.

With his third win of the 2024 season, Cameron Fallon of Parkersburg, playing in the Boys 15-16 division, defended his 2023 Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Low Round of the Day for the boys today with a one over par 72.

“We’ve had rain in the last week that made it a whole new course.  I was part of the original Top Flite Junior Tour and played in 1999 when Sam Snead was here and telling stories.  This is a throwback to Larry Martin,” said Greenbrier Sporting Club Head Golf Professional Justin Beard.  “We wanted to make it a bit different this year since only the top junior golfers in the state were invited.  We had signage for each player and tried to elevate their experience.  This isn’t just for the golfers, but it’s a thank you to the parents and coaches for all they do for these players.”

“I can’t believe the 41st Callaway Junior Tour season is already over,” said WVGA Director of Junior Golf and Core Services Lucas Ware. “There was some great golf played today at the CJRT Championship and I sure will miss seeing these young golfers and their families each week traveling the state. I want to thank Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal for all their support this season.”
