WVGA Ladies League Opens Inaugural Event at Stonewall Resort

The West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA) opened its inaugural Ladies League Monday at Stonewall Resort.

Top honors in First Flight Gross went to the team of Janice Allen and Judy Street of Daniels at nine over par 81.  First Flight Net went to the team of Lauren Ramsey and Cassie Neff of Bridgeport with a six under par 66.

Top honors in Second Flight Gross went to the team of Drema Watts of St. Albans and Kimberly Mallory of South Charleston with a 20 over par 92.  Second Flight Net went to the Wheeling team of Carol Varner and Vickie Monto with a five under par 67.

In individual stroke play, Judy Street of Daniels took top gross honors with a nine over par 81, while Karen Rainey of Daniels took top individual net honors with a two over par 74.

“We were thrilled to have 32 women on the course today for the first event of our 2024 Ladies League,” said WVGA Director of Women’s Golf and One Day Series Sarah Cole.

“We are absolutely thrilled to host the first-ever Ladies League event.  We’re anxious for them to see the remodeling we’ve done in the bunkers,” said Stonewall’s Director of Golf Mike Rogers.  “We congratulate Sarah, Executive Director Chris Slack and the WVGA team for starting this new program and we’re honored to watch it grow.”
