Witt takes first WVGA Senior Series Low Round at Glenville Golf Club

Ron Witt of Masontown shot his first Little General Stores Low Round of the Day for the season at Friday’s Senior Series event, hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA) and sponsored by Little General Stores, at Glenville Golf Club with a four over par 74, besting John Ridenour of Long Bottom, Ohio in a scorecard playoff.

“Glenville Golf Club fed us well and showed us an excellent day of golf for our Senior Series,” said WVGA Director of Women’s Golf and One Day Series Sarah Cole.

“The tee boxes and greens were in good shape today,” said Glenville Manager Cindy Doumont.  “The fairways are dry, but that gave the golfers an extra roll.”

The West Virginia Senior Series, which is presented by Little General Stores and conducted by the WVGA, is for players ages 50 and up.

Overall, 24 players enjoyed the WVGA the day’s Senior Series event.  Categories are: Senior, 50-59; Silver, 60-69; Gold, 70-79; and Diamond, 80+.
