CHRIS SLACK 
Executive Director

Chris comes from Winfield, WV where he graduated high school in 2006. He attended West Virginia State University and graduated in 2010 with a degree in Business Marketing. During his final year of college and after completion Chris served as the P.J. Boatwright Intern and became a full time employee in 2012. Chris is the go-to guy for all things junior golf. He is the tournament director for the Callaway Junior Tour, and keeps everything in line throughout the most hectic days of the summer. Chris is also responsible for Course Rating for all WVGA member golf courses. Away from golf, Chris is a diehard West Virginia University Mountaineer fan.
DANIELLE MONK
Director of Finance and Administration

Danielle is originally from the Charleston, WV area and is a 2011 graduate of West Virginia State University where she majored in Communications and minored in Advertising. She also has an 8 year background in accounting and owns Greyscale Photography, LLC. Danielle is a newlywed and has two stepdaughters.
JEFF PREAST
Director of First Tee – West Virginia

Jeff is originally from Fayette County, West Virginia and is a 2011 graduate of West Virginia State University. He completed his MBA from Salem University in 2013. Prior to joining the staff at the WVGA full-time, Jeff served as a P.J. Boatwright intern in 2012. Jeff has held positions in human resources, insurance consulting, and education fields. Jeff served as the Lead First Tee Coach in Charleston for two years. Jeff lives in Charleston with his wife Caitlyn and their daughter Magnolia Lane. In their spare time, they enjoy operating their business, Magical Preasts Design Co., and cheering on the Mountaineers.
LUCAS WARE
Director of Junior Golf & Core Services

Lucas graduated from Grafton High School in 2013, where he was a member of the 2009 WVSSAC AA State Championship Golf Team. He earned his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University in 2017 and 2020. He was a three-year member of the Top Flite Junior Tour and played in the 102nd WV Amateur Championship in 2021. Prior to WVGA, Lucas worked as Clubhouse Manager for Tygart Lake Golf Course where he grew up learning to play with PGA Professional and five-time WV Open winner, Brad Westfall. He enjoys traveling the country and doing anything outdoors in the Mountain State, from fishing and hunting to skiing and camping. As a WVU alum and lifelong fan, he loves watching the Mountaineers!
SARAH COLE 
Director of Women’s Golf and One Day Series

Sarah is originally from Princeton, WV and graduated from Concord University in 2020 with a degree in Sports Management. At Concord, Sarah was a four-year starter for the Women’s Golf Team and was a member of the Women’s Soccer team for three years. After graduation, Sarah moved to Columbia, SC to work as an Assistant Golf Professional at the Forest Lake Club for four years. Sarah began working for the West Virginia Golf Association in June 2023. In her spare time, Sarah is an avid runner and enjoys all things outdoors.

ALYSSA SCRAGG
Program Director of First Tee – West Virginia

Alyssa is originally from St. Louis, MO and graduated from the University of Charleston in 2020 with a Bachelors in Graphic Design. At UC she played on the Women’s Golf Team for four years. Alyssa started with the West Virginia Golf Association as the Program Director for First Tee in May, 2024. She is a newlywed and lives in Scott Depot with her husband David and their dog Reya. Outside of work, Alyssa enjoys doing photography and videography for weddings, reading, and playing golf!
