Randolph takes second AAA win in Callaway Junior Rookie League at Minibel

The Callaway Junior Tour Rookie League, sponsored by Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal and hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA), continued its season Saturday at Minibel Par 3 Golf Course in Vienna.

The CJRT Rookie League is broken into three divisions, based on skill and experience.  Division winners were:

  • AAA (nine holes): Alexander Randolph of Bridgeport at (+6) 33;
  • AA (nine holes): Jayden Lamp of Parkersburg at (+14) 41; and
  • A (six holes): Oliver Harris of Parkersburg (+12) 30.

The event, a partner of Callaway Golf and conducted by the West Virginia Golf Association, featured a field of 25 golfers aged 5 to 18 from across West Virginia.

“It’s great to host a CJRT Rookie League event for another year and to see some of my First Tee – West Virginia kids on the course today,” said Minibel’s General Manager and First Tee Coach George Potter.  “The greens are a bit rough, but not bad, considering two floods in less than a month.  We hope the kids had fun out here today.”

“I enjoy hosting Rookie League events at our First Tee WV program locations. Lead Coach George Potter does a great job introducing young players to the game of golf,” said WVGA Director of Junior Golf and Core Services Lucas Ware.
