Koreski takes first 2025 WVGA Senior Series Low Round at The Pines Country Club

Michael Koreski of Parkersburg shot a three over par (+3) 74 to earn Wednesday’s Little General Stores Low Round of the Day at the Senior Series event, hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA) and sponsored by Little General Stores, to open the 2025 season at The Pines Country Club in Morgantown.

Overall, 107 players enjoyed the first WVGA Senior Series event of the season.

The West Virginia Senior Series, which is presented by Little General Stores and conducted by the WVGA, is for players ages 50 and older.  Categories are: Senior, 50-59; Silver, 60-69; Gold, 70-79; and Diamond, 80+.

“Thank you to Russell Reid and The Pines Country Club for a fantastic start to the season,” said WVGA Director of Women’s Golf and One Day Series Sarah Cole.  “We can always expect pristine course conditions and exceptional hospitality when we’re here.”

In addition to Koreski winning the Senior Gross category, other winners today were:

  • Senior Net: John Crowe of Ridgely, (+2) 73;
  • Silver Gross: Penn Kurtz of Wheeling, (+11) 82;
  • Silver Net: Mark Rackowitz of Williamstown, (-4) 67;
  • Gold Gross: Neil Christiansen of Parkersburg, (+3) 74;
  • Gold Net: Daniel Griffin of Morgantown, (-2) 69;
  • Diamond Gross: Terry Whitfield of Moundsville, (+18) 89; and
  • Duane Lescalet of Wheeling, (+14) 85.
