Duty takes fourth WVGA Senior Series Low Round at Green Hills Country Club

John Duty of Hurricane shot Thursday’s Little General Stores Low Round of the Day at the Senior Series event, hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA) and sponsored by Little General Stores, at Green Hills Country Club in Fairmont with a one over par 71.  This is his fourth Low Round of the season.

The West Virginia Senior Series, which is presented by Little General Stores and conducted by the WVGA, is for players ages 50 and up.

“We are thrilled to have the WVGA Senior Series here today, and hope to host more events in the future,” said Green Hills’ Keaton Linger.  “We’re happy to have even more players today than we had on our original date.  That first event had to be rescheduled due to excessive heat.”

Overall, 83 players enjoyed the WVGA the day’s Senior Series event.  Categories are: Senior, 50-59; Silver, 60-69; Gold, 70-79; and Diamond, 80+.

“It was great to enjoy the cooler temperatures in the mountains of West Virginia at Green Hills Country Club,” said WVGA Director of Women’s Golf and One Day Series Sarah Cole.  “It was nice, personally, to see a course that’s new to me and back on the schedule.”

In addition to Duty winning the Silver Gross category, other winners today were:

  • Senior Gross: Mike Boggs of Hedgesville, (+4) 74;
