Cook takes ninth and Shirkey takes second Rounds of the Day in Callaway Junior Tour at Mingo Bottom Golf Club

A field of 77 golfers, aged 10 to 18, participated in the Callaway Junior Tour, sponsored by Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal and hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA), Tuesday at the Mingo Bottom Golf Club in Elizabeth.

Kerri-Anne Cook of Oceana, playing in the girls 15-18 division, won her ninth Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for girls this season.

Bentley Shirkey, playing in the boys 12 and under division, won the Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for boys.

“We’re sorry it’s so dry, but the greens are good, and the kids still had fun today,” said Mingo Bottom’s General Manager Billy Dotson.  “We appreciate the WVGA picking us as one of their Callaway Junior Tour host courses and we hope to make this a long-term event.”

“The weather could not have been better for our regular season finale. Billy Dotson and his staff are perhaps the most welcoming crew of golf staff that we encounter during the season,” said WVGA Director of Junior Golf and Core Services Lucas Ware.
