Chris Daniels takes WVGA Senior Series Low Round at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club

Following a scorecard playoff, Chris Daniels of Beckley shot the Little General Stores Low Round of the Day at Tuesday’s Senior Series event, hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA) and sponsored by Little General Stores, at Sleepy Hollow Golf  Course in Hurricane with a one under par 71.

“We’re happy to host the Senior Series delighted to have the WVGA Senior Series golfers here today at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club,” said WVGA Executive Director Chris Slack. “It’s one of the premier courses in our state and the golfers love to play here.”

The West Virginia Senior Series, which is presented by Little General Stores and conducted by the WVGA, is for players ages 50 and up.  The Diamond Division is sponsored by Donnie Smith and Emergency Physicians Resource Organization and John Bumgarner with State Farm for sponsoring our Diamond (80+) Division.

Overall, 106 players enjoyed the WVGA the day’s Senior Series event.  Categories are: Senior, 50-59; Silver, 60-69; Gold, 70-79; and Diamond, 80+.

In addition to Daniels winning the Senior Gross category, other winners today were:

  • Senior Net: Steve Richardson of Scott Depot (-2) 70;
  • Silver Gross: Dean Daniels of McHenry, Md., (-1) 71;
  • Silver Net: George Abel of Grafton, (-3) 69;
  • Gold Gross: Rick Degroff of Montrose, (E) 72;
  • Gold Net: Ron Witt of Masontown, (-4) 68;
  • Diamond Gross: Bob White of Hurricane, (+14) 86; and
  • Diamond Net: Raymond Jones of Harrisville, (+3) 75.

The Senior Series is back in action Monday, June 10, at Pocahontas Country Club in Marlinton.
