The Callaway Junior Tour, sponsored by Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal and hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA), visited The Greenbrier for Monday morning and afternoon sessions with a total field of 89 golfers aged 10 to 18.
Caleb Young of Fairmont, playing in the boys 17-18 division, won the morning Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for boys. Savannah Hawkins of Hurricane, playing in the girls 15-18 division, won the morning Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for girls.
Peyton VanMeter of Augusta, playing in the boys 13-14 division, won the afternoon Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for boys. Grace Saunders of Springfield, Va., playing in the girls 15-18 division, won the afternoon Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for girls.
“We have loved having the Callaway Junior Tour here for what is now over 30 years of its 42-year existence,” said The Greenbrier’s Director of Golf Hill Herrick. “Some of the state’s best amateurs started right here in the Callaway Junior Tour.”
Morning division winners were:
- Boys 12 & under: Jake Hutchison of Lewisburg;
- Boys 13-14: Grant Winkler of Daniels following a scorecard playoff with Luca Collier of Elkins;
- Boys 15-16: Tyler Beard of Lewisburg;
- Boys 17-18: Caleb Young of Fairmont;
- Girls 10-14: Mackenzie Egress of Buckhannon; and
- Girls 15-18: Savannah Hawkins of Hurricane.
Afternoon division winners were:
- Boys 12 & under: Titus Smith of Middlebourne;
- Boys 13-14: Peyton VanMeter of Augusta;
- Boys 15-16: Tyler Stover of Beckley;
- Boys 17-18: Bailey Christian of Catlettsburg, Ky.;
- Girls 10-14: Valentina Aguilar of Elkins; and
- Girls 15-18: Grace Saunders of Springfield, Va.
