Bryan Myers takes WVGA Senior Amateur Championship at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club

Bryan Myers of Wheeling, last year’s runner-up, topped the Championship Bracket at the West Virginia Senior Amateur Championship, sponsored by Little General Stores and conducted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA), at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club in Hurricane. Myers won his match 3 and 1 over Pat Carter of Huntington.

In the Senior Championship Bracket, Neil Christiansen of Parkersburg won his match 2 and 1 over Lee Cooperrider of Hurricane.

Highlights of the three-day event included a total of 10 birdies each for Myers and Carter.

“We’ve had a week of good weather and great golf,” said Jimmy Harrison, head golf professional at Sleepy Hollow.  “We’re pleased to congratulate Bryan Myers and Neil Christiansen on their wins.”
