Jeff Hughes of Scarbro took the final Little General Stores Low Round of the Day at the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA) Senior Series event Tuesday at Riverside Golf Club in Mason, shooting a (-1) 69.  He was aided by six birdies at the last Senior Series event of the 2025 season.

Overall, 83 players enjoyed a great day at today’s Senior Series event.  The Senior Series, which is presented by Little General Stores and conducted by the WVGA, is for players ages 50 and older.  Categories are: Senior, 50-59; Silver, 60-69; Gold, 70-79; and Diamond, 80+.

“We were happy to have the senior players on our course today, and we hosted a steak dinner for the players to celebrate the end of the 2025 season,” said Riverside’s Head Golf Professional Ty Roush.  “The course was in excellent shape today, and the greens were running really fast.”

“I’m sad to see the 2025 season close after 24 events from April to today, but it’s been a great season for our senior golfers,” said WVGA Director of Women’s Golf and One Day Series Sarah Cole.  “We thank Ty and the entire Riverside family for hosting us, and for fixing a steak dinner for our folks!”
