The 2025 WV Club Team Championship, conducted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA) at Fincastle Golf Course in Bluefield, Va., crowned its champions Sunday with repeat winners for one team championship and one individual.
Winners of the Men’s Championship team from Fincastle #1, winning for the first time, included Tyler Hillyer and Matt Morgan of Princeton, and Hunter O’Neal and Ben Ramsey of Bluefield, Va., finishing with a combined score of eight over par (+8) 288. The top five other finishers included teams from Berry Hills, Sleepy Hollow, Fincastle #2 and Tygart Lake. A total of 44 golfers played on 11 men’s teams.
The Sleepy Hollow team won the Senior Championship for the second consecutive year and included David Bumgarner, Cory Hoshor, John Duty and Harold Payne, finishing with a combined score of 13 over par (+13) 223. The remaining order of finishing teams included Riverside, Fincastle, Big Bend, Esquire and Glade Springs, tied for fifth, and Tygart Lake. A total of 28 golfers played on seven senior teams.
Winners of the Ladies’ Championship team from Glade Springs included Rosa Adkins, Janice Allen, Jason Dalton and Karen Rainey, all from Daniels, scoring 46 over par (+46) 256.
Individual winners on the day were:
- Men’s champion Ben Ramsey, Fincastle Golf Course, (-5) 65;
- Ladies’ champion, for the second consecutive year, Karen Rainey, Glade Springs, (+11) 81; and
- Senior champion Ty Roush, Mason, Riverside Golf Club, (-2) 72.
“We’re very excited to host a WVGA championship, especially the last one of the season. We’re thrilled to see one of our teams take the Men’s Championship and Ben take the Men’s Championship,” said Fincastle’s General Manager John O’Neal. “It’s a great chance to showcase our course, and we think everyone enjoyed it. The course has greened up this week and we put in the work to make everything ready from tees to fairways and bunkers to greens.”
