The West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA) Women’s Series opened a two-day event Friday at Raven Golf Club at Snowshoe, featuring 32 women on eight teams from across the state.
In the First Flight Gross division, the team of Janice Allen and Judy Street of Daniels, Caroline Ramsey of Bridgeport and Lisa Younis of Shepherdstown hold an 8-stroke lead over their competition, finishing the first day at on over par (+1) 137. In the First Flight Net division, that same team is tied with the team of Lauren Ramsey and Kaitlin Satzer of Bridgeport, Kathryn Alvaro of Morgantown and Karley Losh of Clarksburg, with both teams finishing at five under par (-5) 131.
In both the Second Flight Gross and Net divisions, Lori Bocock, Cindy Matthews, Beverly Eye of Fort Seybert and Amy Humphries of Franklin hold the leader. Their gross score is 15 over par (+15) 151, while their net score is two under par (-2) 134 at the end of the first day.
