The Callaway Junior Tour, sponsored by Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal and hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA), played the Locust Hill Golf Course in Charles Town, one day after the Rookie League played Sunday.
Today’s event featured a total field of 33 golfers aged 9 to 18. Blaine Morgan of Bluefield, playing in the boys 13-14 division, won his first Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for boys this season, finishing at four over par (+4) 76. Reagan Friel of Marlinton, playing in the girls 15-18 division, won her first Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for girls this season at 23 over par (+23) 95.
Division winners were:
- Boys 12 and under: Mason Burkhart of Bunker Hill, (+41) 113;
- Boys 13-14: Blaine Morgan of Bluefield, (+4) 76;
- Boys 15-16: Peyton VanMeter of Augusta, (+9) 81;
- Boys 17-18: Brady Reed of Kearneysville, (+6) 78;
- Girls 10-14: Katie Ann LeMaster of Vienna, (+26) 99; and
- Girls 15-18: Reagan Friel of Marlinton, (+23) 95.
“It has been our absolute pleasure to have the Rookie Tour here yesterday and the Callaway Junior Tour here today,” said Locust Hill’s Owner and General Manager Wayne Clark. “Junior players are the future of our sport and we love the opportunity to support these programs.”
WVGA’s Director of Junior Golf and Core Services Lucas Ware said, “Wayne Clark and staff do a tremendous job with our First Tee WV program and I’m glad to see some of those players take their game to a competition the last couple days.”
