Wednesday saw the conclusion of the 2025 West Virginia Amateur Series, presented by PSIMED, and hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA). The season’s final event drew 41 golfers to Stonewall Resort.
Cam Roam of Huntington took his first Championship Flight in the last event of the 2025 West Virginia Amateur season, scoring two under par (-2) 70, winning the flight by one stroke.
Cathleen Wong of Parkersburg earned her third win in the Women’s Gross flight, scoring a three over par (+3) 75, while Diana Watkins of Elizabeth took Women’s Net flight honors with a six over par (+6) 78.
Joe Crislip of Parkersburg won the Men’s Gross flight this season with a two under par (-2) 70, and T.C. Chappelear of Wheeling won the Men’s Net flight with a one over par (+1) 73.
“We’re always happy to have the Amateur Series here. It’s one of the great series offered by the WVGA,” said Stonewall’s Head Golf Professional Mike Rogers. “The course is always a good test for golfers and it was in great shape today
WVGA’s Director of Women’s Golf and One Day Events Sarah Cole said, “It’s been a great Amateur Series season, thanks in large part to PSIMED, and we want to thank all our host courses and congratulate all our winners.”
The West Virginia Amateur Series, presented by PSIMED, is open to anyone, male or female, of any skill level. Awards are given in several flights based on net and gross scores.
