The Callaway Junior Tour, sponsored by Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal and hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA), visited The Greenbrier for Wednesday morning and afternoon sessions with a total field of 93 golfers aged 10 to 18.
Anderson Lilly of Oak Hill, playing in the boys 12 and under division, won the morning Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for boys with a three over par (+3) 39. Lexi Green of Charleston, playing in the girls 15-18 division, won the morning Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for girls with a six over par (+6) 42.
Dawson Goins of Bluefield, Va., playing in the boys 15-16 division, won the afternoon Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for boys in a scorecard playoff, finishing at five over par (+5) 41. Isabelle Studli of Fairfield, Pa., playing in the girls 15-18 division, won the afternoon Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for girls with an 11 over par (+11) 47.
“We love having the juniors play on the historic Greenbrier Course that has a longstanding tradition.,” said The Greenbrier’s Director of Golf Hill Herrick. “This is at least our 30th time hosting the Tour, and although it was a tough day for the players, we look forward to having them again.”
Morning division winners were:
- Boys 12 & under: Anderson Lilly of Oak Hill;
- Boys 13-14: Blaine Morgan of Bluefield (in a scorecard playoff);
- Boys 15-16: Grant Winkler of Daniels;
- Boys 17-18: Samuel Walker of Ironton, Ohio;
- Girls 10-14: Chastyn Viars of South Charleston; and
- Girls 15-18: Lexi Green of Charleston.
Afternoon division winners were:
- Boys 12 & under: Ryder Higginbothan of Hurricane;
- Boys 13-14: Cayden Swink of Berkeley Springs;
- Boys 15-16: Dawson Goins of Bluefield, Va.;
- Boys 17-18: Bryson Mabry of Culloden;
- Girls 10-14: Valentina Aguilar of Elkins; and
- Girls 15-18: Isabelle Studli of Fairfield, Pa.
“It was great to host our season opening event at The Greenbrier. It was not the best day of weather, but they pushed through,” said WVGA’s Director of Junior Golf and Core Services.
