2024 WV Two-Lady Scramble sees close final scores     

The 2024 West Virginia Two-Lady Scramble Championship teed off the first day at Pipestem Resort Golf Course hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA).

In the Championship Flight, the team of Teresa Harper of Coolville, Ohio, and Melanie Collins of Parkersburg broke yesterday’s tie with the team of Karen Rainey of Daniels and Dorothy Romanek of Wheeling, winning with a one-stroke lead at 11 under par 133.  Rainey and Romanek finished one stroke back at 10 under par 134.

The team of Drema Watts of St. Albans and Kim Smith of Winfield extended yesterday’s one-stroke lead to two strokes, finishing at six under par 138 in the First Flight.

There were seven teams in this event.

Steve Robertson, head golf professional at Pipestem Resort State Park, said, “The course is in great condition and that helped make this a great event for the ladies.”

“We are pleased with the conditions here and how closely matched the competitors were in the Championship and First Flights,” said WVGA’s Director of Junior Golf and Core Services Lucas Ware.
