Cook and Young take Rounds of the Day in Callaway Junior Tour at Canaan Valley Resort

A field of 91 golfers, aged 10 to 18, participated in the Callaway Junior Tour, sponsored by Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal and hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA), Thursday at Canaan Valley Resort in Davis.

Kerri-Anne Cook of Oceana, playing in the girls 15-18 division, won her second Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day this week for girls. Caleb Young of Fairmont, playing in the boys 17-18 division, won the Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Round of the Day for boys.

“We’re always honored to host youth events since an influx of kids can grow the game now and into the future,” said Canaan’s General Manager Matthew Baker.  “Canaan is as good as I’ve ever seen it in 10 years and or climate is do great for the players.”

“Congratulations to Kerri-Anne on her repeat win and to all the winners today,” said WVGA Director of Junior Golf and Core Services Lucas Ware.  “Canaan Valley Resort is an amazing location for junior golf and the game of golf in West Virginia.”

Division winners were:

  • Boys 12 & under: Jude Walker of Elizabeth, (+3) 75;
  • Boys 13-14: Andrew James of Huntington, (+2) 74;
  • Boys 15-16: Solas Chhin-Kreiner of Morgantown, (E) 72;
  • Boys 17-18: Caleb Young of Fairmont, (-2) 70;
  • Girls 10-14: Valentina Aguilar of Elkins, (+34) 106.; and
  • Girls 15-18: Kerri-Anne Cook of Oceana, (E) 72.
