Bryan Myers of Wheeling shot the Little General Stores Low Round of the Day at Wednesday’s Senior Series event, hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA) and sponsored by Little General Stores, on the Palmer Course at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling with a five under par 66.
“Thank you to Oglebay Resort for hosting the second day of our northern swing. We couldn’t have asked for better weather or course conditions,” said WVGA Director of Women’s Golf and One Day Series Sarah Cole.
The West Virginia Senior Series, which is presented by Little General Stores and conducted by the WVGA, is for players ages 50 and up. The Diamond Division is sponsored by Donnie Smith and Emergency Physicians Resource Organization and John Bumgarner with State Farm for sponsoring our Diamond (80+) Division.
Overall, 92 players enjoyed the WVGA the day’s Senior Series event. Categories are: Senior, 50-59; Silver, 60-69; Gold, 70-79; and Diamond, 80+.
In addition to Myers winning the Senior Gross category, other winners today were:
- Senior Net: Jeff Harper of Coolville, Ohio, (2) 69;
- Silver Gross: John Duty of Hurricane, (+2) 73;
- Silver Net: William Kincaid of Charleston, (-10) 61;
- Gold Gross: Gary Schrickel of St. Clairsville, Ohio, (-2) 69;
- Gold Net: Duane Lescalet of Wheeling, (E) 71;
- Diamond Gross: Terry Whitfield of Moundsville, (+14) 85; and
- Diamond Net: Denis Minor of Moundsville, (+18) 89.
