The fifth of six state-wide qualifiers for the 91st West Virginia Open Championship, presented by WVU Medicine, saw a great day of golf at The Pines Country Club in Morgantown on Tuesday. Hoping to qualify for one of 15 spots or two alternate positions in the Championship later this month, 46 golfers teed off this morning.
“We’ve been looking forward to hosting this Qualifier and it was a great day of golf,” said Russell Reid, The Pines’ head golf professional. “Mother nature even cooperated today.”
Earning Medalist Honor was Lucas Riggleman of Parkersburg with a one over par 72. Other qualifiers were:

- Marty Knouse of Morgantown, (+3) 74;
- Solas Chhin-Kreiner of Morgantown, (+3) 74;
- Caleb Young of Fairmont, (+4) 75;
- John Kingora of Morgantown, (+4) 75;
- Hunter Heath of Roanoke, (+5) 76;
- Adam Ware of Grafton, (+5) 76;
- Chad Griffith of Morgantown, (+5) 76;
- Josh Stephenson of Huntington, (+6) 77;
- Mark Spruill of Morgantown, (+7) 78;
- Gabriel Watson of Morgantown, (+7) 78;
- Mark Walker (professional) of Bridgeport, (+8) 79; and
- Jeff McGraw of Princeton, (+8) 79.
Alternates are Mark Golden of Morgantown and Buck Gower of Grafton.
