The 2025 West Virginia Two-Man Championship teed off the first day on the Stonehaven Course at the Glade Springs Village in Daniels, hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association (WVGA). The first day of the two-day event saw strong scores across a sold-out field of 54 teams, 108 golfers.
The team of Mason Weese of Charleston and Mitch Hoffman led the first day with a 13 under par (-13) 59 on the strength of 13 birdies. In second, with nine birdies, was the team of Noah Mullens of Milton and Christian Brand of Hurricane at nine under par (-9) 63.
Rounding out the top five, tied for third at eight under par (-8) 64, were the teams of:
- Davey Jude of Kermit and Jeff McGraw of Princeton;
- Mike Veres of Logan and John Evans of Chapmanville; and
- Zach Baldwin and Brad Tweel, both of Huntington.
“Our course was prepped and ready for this event, even with the uncooperative weather,” said Stonehaven’s Head Golf Professional Matt Felber. “We’ve been looking forward to getting the WVGA season started with this sold-out event.”
“Registration for 2025 WVGA events opened at noon on March 4 and the Two-Man Scramble was sold out by 12:30,” said WVGA’s Executive Director Chris Slack. “We thank Matt Felber, the Stonehaven staff and the operations staff from Glade Springs Resort for making this a successful event.”
Sunday’s final round will be a 10:00 a.m. shotgun start.
