The 2023 West Virginia Two-Man Championship teed off the first day on the Woodhaven Course at Glade Springs Village hosted by the West Virginia Golf Association. The sold-out field of 50 teams, 100 golfers, enjoyed better weather as the day progressed, and the leaders are enjoying their first day of play.
The team of Jeremy Valley of Logan and Cory Hoshor of Scott Depot held the lead after the first round with a 12 under par 60. They are followed closely by the teams of Jess Ferrell of Fairmont and Jared Taylor of Bluefield, sitting at 11 under, and Christian Brand of Scott Depot and Bosten Miller of Hurricane, at 10 under par.
“We’ve been looking forward to good spring weather,” said Matt Felber, head golf professional at Glade Springs Village. “We looked forward to the big men’s field at this weekend’s event.”
Highlights of the day included eight birdies and two eagles for Vallet and Hoshor, 12 birdies for Ferrell and Taylor and eight birdies and one eagle for Brand and Miller.

Sunday’s final round will be a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start.
