Dear Golfer,
The WVGA and our host Member Clubs are committed to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for its contestants, staff, spectators, the youth we serve and volunteers. We have been carefully monitoring the unprecedented events related to the COVID-19 virus that have transpired over the last several days, and at this time, we plan to continue the conducting of our events as scheduled.
We are making several cautionary adjustments in preparation of the upcoming season to reduce the risk you might be taking as a participant. Adjustments include the manner in which player lunches are distributed, shotgun registration procedure changes, scorecard and Notice to Player policies, and even the manner in which we greet one another. These are just a few of our efforts to encourage social distancing and a healthier competing environment.
We strongly encourage all members to review the symptoms of COVID-19 on the Center for Disease Control’s Website. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms or have recently traveled to and from one of the many affected areas, or associated with one who has, we ask that you stay home. A full refund will be immediately provided by the WVGA for anyone showing such symptoms or to anyone who withdraws from an event due to coronavirus concerns. While the WVGA is implementing these several precautions in an attempt to protect the safety and well-being of everyone, we can never eliminate risk of exposure in its entirety.
In these uncertain times, we plan to ensure that an open line of communication to the WVGA staff is always available, to answer any of your questions, as well as to deliver to you any up to date changes that may take place in the coming weeks. In the meantime, I encourage everyone to continue to enjoy this game that we all love. Use this outdoor recreational activity as a vehicle to help you get through these challenging times. I look forward to seeing each of you, healthy and eager for the WVGA golf season to begin.
